Sometimes colourful, sometimes almost monochrome, the drawings of the Spanish artist Marta Abad Blay vary greatly in colour and material, but the style is unmistakable. The lines are simple but effective and full of emotion.
As well as nature and animal protection, Marta's themes include motherhood, femininity and overcoming prejudices. The woman or girl is at the centre of attention. Often as a breast, but sometimes as a whole and in motion. Marta has also included some Christmas motifs in her illustrations.

The use of materials is also interesting. Marta often uses a combination of materials such as paint, pencil, wax crayon and Ecoline marker in one drawing.
